Welcome to Sandy Oaks Ranch!   We are a private Texas Style Lodge offering Entertainment, Wingshooting, and Sporting Clays facilities all nestled among the beautiful large live oaks of Medina County. Sandy Oaks Ranch is conveniently located 30 minutes from downtown San Antonio on Interstate 35. Named to depict its beautiful terrain, we are situated in the Sarita-Wilco sands, which have long been known to produce some of the best quail hunting in Texas.   Sandy Oaks Ranch is a unique Texas experience for a family reunion, corporate retreat, romantic wedding, or any other special destination event. 

We have two event facilities that provide majestic views of the large live oaks, the rolling hills, while overlooking a two acre tank. A dramatic backdrop with incredible sunsets is ideal for any size of event, whether it’s an intimate group or for a cast of thousands.

The Lodge is perfect for socializing around the fireplace, pool and bar at the outdoor pavilion area or mingling in the indoor comforts of the main lodge. We offer casual dining with gourmet country style cuisine in a relaxed and warm atmosphere. 

Our Shooting Pavilion is available for 5-Stand, Sporting Clays, Box Bird and Columbaire, Helice and Ball Trap.   Along with an abundance of live oak trees and picturesque scenery we are all about a unique hunting experience.   Wingshooters can enjoy authentic quail hunts, hunting early release bobwhite quail, native wild quail as well as white-winged and mourning doves.  The land has been managed to produce excellent quail habitat.   Our sandy soil naturally produces preferred feed for quail and dove.  Quail hunting will be guided by owner, Foard Houston and other professional guides.  All guides are very experienced upland bird hunters and dog handlers.

The Texas style cabins are nestled among large live oak trees, catering to the relaxation of our guests. Each cabin can   accommodate twelve to sixteen overnight guests and is adjacent to The Lodge and pool area.   There are five unique and cozy guest rooms, each with a private bathroom.

Fly fishing trips are available and are also guided by Foard Houston.  Enjoy fly fishing for large mouth bass in south Texas or sight casting for redfish and trout on the Gulf Coast.
